Pocono Mountains Ski Trip . . . . . . A Cool Adventure
Our #1 Ski Trip in the Mid Atlantic and the lower Northeastern states is our two night stay in the heart of the Poconos. Your trip begins right after classes are over on a Friday afternoon. Motor Coaches will typically arrive between 7:00pm and 9:00pm for check-in at the Split Rock Resort. A welcome pizza party will be held immediately after check-in and then students have an hour or two to enjoy the indoor sports center-bowling, tennis, wallyball, basketball, badminton and even ping pong & pool tables. When the indoor heated swimming pool closes down to the general public at 10:00pm we will have a 10-Midnight swimming party with an ice cream Sundae bar at Midnight.
The next morning we'll get up early, have a hearty breakfast at the Split Rock Resort and load the bus towards either Jack Frost/Big Boulder or Shawnee Mountain. First stop is the rental department for your skiing or boarding equipment. Your equipment will already be prepared for you from the forms you filled out back at school. Proceed to the group lessons area, as everyone will take a morning lesson. Even experienced skiers will have a ski-off for the ski schools director for advanced class placement. Those put in intermediate or above classes do not have to attend the afternoon group lessons if they choose not to. Lunch will be provided at the base cafeteria of the ski area. We will ski until approximately 4:00pm, then proceed back to the hotel to relax and warm up. A big sub sandwich party with chili, lots of sides and fruits and beverage will be served in the “breakfast nook” area of the hotel by the fireplace. At 7:15pm we will load the bus up and head for an evening of snow tubing under the lights. Don't worry, there will be a lift back up for you and your tube each time you make a run.
After your second nights sleep wake up to a full hot breakfast. Sometime after breakfast between 9:00-10:00am load your suit cases up on the coach. Head back into the hotel and go into the next building from the sports center to one of America's largest indoor water park H2oooo! While at the incomparable indoor water park enjoy Pennsylvania's first “Flow Rider” personal boogey board or body surf machine, along with 4-story tall water slides, a wave pool with 6-foot waves and many other awesome chutes, tubes and rivers. An all-u-can-eat lunch will be served in the late afternoon. Students and sponsors can use H2oooo's changing rooms and showers to tuck away their swimwear in plastic bags and get their dry clothes on for the trip home. Departures usually start at around 4:00pm.
Many variations of the above package can be developed for your school's or groups needs. We have many other student friendly hotels such as the Shawnee Inn package which does not include the water park but two days of skiing and boarding and an outdoor bonfire after the tubing party with s'mores.
